Carroll had no service last night, nor did anyone get near to him to help him out or make runs. Easy to point the finger at him but that game was lost in the midfield and shape of the team.

The midfield three didn't play well but they weren't helped by the lack of an outlet. With no Payet, Lanzini and Carroll up top the ball just keeps coming back and there are very few options.

We need a mobile centre forward and we need our better players fit again. Much like last season.

I'd say more of a problem with Antonio isn't his brain, it's that he's about 27 years old and has never played as a right back before in his career!

Love Bilic, but considering how successful Antonio was for us as a winger last season, I find it bloody infuriating and bizarre that he has tried persisting with this.

Poor team performance all round and I don't think I've ever seen a worse performance from Noble in his entire career, was dreadful along with his midfield buddies.

Please West Ham accept any offer for Valencia as well. £4.50 and a packet of stale nice n spicy nik naks will do.

See Carroll v Watford last year. People end up in 'areas of the pitch'. It wasn't like he was caught out of position. He made two schoolboy errors in the space of 10 seconds. As Huffers says, it was braindead, nothing else.

As for your assertion that the owners should move on because we've lost away at Chelsea, people came out with all this crap when we lost at home against Leicester & Bournemouth at the start of last season. Doing things on the cheap, new signings are all crap etc etc etc. Fast forward 6 months, and apparently the owners were geniuses and we'd only been able to recruit such top players because of the athletics stadium.

Bilic isn't to blame for an individual mistake a player makes on the pitch. Having said that, if you pick Jermaine Defoe in goal, you're not increasing your chances of him collecting crosses.

Disappointing - thought we looked well off the pace. Midfield three were terrible.

Thought Kante was a more obvious second yellow than Costa's but, in truth, we got what we deserved

Shame about Ayew because we will now be in the market for yet another midfielder to replace him. Because he isn't a striker, definitely not the marquee striker we were promised. And then when they're all fit we'll have about 20 midfielders. You can never have too many I suppose.

The problem with Antonio is he obviously hasn't got much of a brain. At RW, mistakes don't affect the match in such a negative way. He should still have learnt basic stuff though, he made a similar error vs Man United in the cup, tried to play with ball with the outside of his foot, got caught out and Rashford scored.

I think its too far gone with him now at RB, cant see him recovering confidence - the opposition will be told to close him down big time. Move him up, Byram has always looked fine. For those saying Byram doesn't look the type to push forward, he used to play RM for Leeds.

I don't envy our left back with Valencia in front of him. He offers nothing going forward and even less when they have the ball. At the end of the first half they had a corner and he was marking their left back and I actually thought to myself this will be a free header for him Lo and behold the ball came in and he made a 2 yard run Valencia didn't bother going with him and he flicked a header just past the far post and you knew it was coming. Shocking player

Maybe if Antonio was not playing at RB he would not have been in that area of the pitch at that time.
Who's fault is that?

Was it bilic who made two mistakes leading to the first goal that you wouldn't expect to see in under11s football?

I've had enough of Valencia he's had enough time, almost everything he does ends up getting snuffed out in fact I can't recall him doing anything to help the cause. Sad thing is I can't see us getting much money for him too.

Re: ⚽ Chelsea v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 2-1
Brentford, i would just be happy if they had approached the window like last year, kept their mouths shut and bought good players. Dont have to necessarily chuck loads of money out to buy players but buy good players like this arther might be. I think they have let the payet coup get to their heads, keep bragging we only paid 10m for him. Getting players because they are free, cheap or loan is not the way forward for this club, its the style of football and the results that matter

Most worrying is the noises from bilic and the board that we are done in this transfer window. Are they
Blind?
Stupid?
Just bluffing??

Hopper......We have a huge opportunity to kick on now and our owners are still.trying to not spend money.

I honesly believe they should sell up now to someone with more money who is prepared to do what is required.

Thanks for steadying the club but time to move on!

It's the manager's fault that one of our most effective attackers and least effective defenders is spending game after game playing right back.

Re: ⚽ Chelsea v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 2-1
SG.....It is Billic who keeps persisting with Antonio one of our most potent attacling threats at RB. It is Billic who keeps picking Valencia. It is Billic who wants to fill the team with wingers.
It was Billic who picked that shambles of a line up and Billic who made the terrible substitutions and Billic who is responsible for making sure the team is prepared for the new season and doesn't keep conceeding late goals.

He keeps fucking about with the defence too and now we leak goals every game.

grasshopper 9:02 Tue Aug 16
Re: ⚽ Chelsea v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 2-1
The most likely truth is the management have let bilic down in the transfer market. Our strategy is so obvious:

1.free transfer
2. Loan or loan with option to buy
3. Can we use a player from another position?
4.buy a player

We tried to get a RB from psg on a free at the start of the season and he went to fenebache. The only reason we probably went for him was because he was a free transfer. Would rather pay and get a proper RB and players then have all these free transfers.
